About the Principal

Christy Kemp, founder and president of Dahlia Public Relations, is a seasoned professional with more than two decades of experience in corporate communications. After providing public relations and communications services to dozens of organizations ranging from start-ups to global Fortune 500 companies, Ms. Kemp founded Dahlia PR to serve the specific communications needs of growing businesses.


Dahlia PR offers a range of services and programs including corporate messaging, press campaigns, analyst relations, local publicity, customer communications, presentation development, public speaking preparation and marketing communications.


Prior to founding Dahlia PR, Ms. Kemp served as the vice president of Communications for Expanets (purchased by Avaya in 2004). Reporting to the CEO, her responsibilities included the company's external corporate visibility and internal communications. In the midst of a challenging economic climate, she successfully built the company's brand as the country's largest communications solutions provider.


Earlier in her career, Ms. Kemp worked for Qwest Communications International Inc. where she directed all corporate communications including PR, events and internal communications for Qwest's software solutions subsidiary, Qwest Cyber Solutions. For Qwest's corporate office, she managed strategic news announcements with partners including Microsoft, BellSouth and Cisco.


As a Qwest company spokesperson, she performed broadcast and trade media relations on national and local levels. She conducted industry analyst relations in the telecommunications and technology sectors and managed the company's executive visibility program that placed the Chairman and CEO of Qwest in high profile public speaking forums.


Ms. Kemp gained experience early in her career at high profile public relations and advertising agencies including Weber Shandwick Worldwide, Citigate Cunningham and The Haughey Group. During this time she carried out programs for global and national technology, health care and biotechnology organizations such as 3Com, IBM, Genzyme, Motorola, JD Edwards, Massachusetts General Hospital, University of Massachusetts Medical Center and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
